چکیده
Purpose: Intercropping of baby corn (Zea mays L.) with pulse legumes might improve production efficiency and increase profitability. The objectives this study were to compare growth, yield nitrogen uptake in intercropping systems determine income from the systems.Research Method: Four treatments consisting alone, mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek), soybean (Glycine max) crawling cowpea unquiculata L. Walp) assigned a randomized complete block design three replications.Findings: All reduced growth could not reimburse for crop loss. Crawling was best legume system term providing better residue succeeding crops. Among investigated, had highest uptake, its may be beneficial reasons reduction alternative means are discussed.Originality: is generally practiced efficiency. In study, did growers because market price corn.

Weed Control via Intercropping with Gliricidia. Ii. Corn Crop
A reduction in herbicide use is one of modern agriculture’s main interests and several alternatives are being investigated with this objective, including intercropping. Gliricídia (Gliricidia sepium) mulch has no allelopathic effect on corn or beans but significantly decreased the population of some weed species. The objective of this study was to evaluate green ear and grain yield in corn cult...
متن کاملIntercropping Enhances Productivity and Maintains the Most Soil Fertility Properties Relative to Sole Cropping
Yield and nutrient acquisition advantages are frequently found in intercropping systems. However, there are few published reports on soil fertility in intercropping relative to monocultures. A field experiment was therefore established in 2009 in Gansu province, northwest China. The treatments comprised maize/faba bean, maize/soybean, maize/chickpea and maize/turnip intercropping, and their cor...
متن کاملCrop Residue Removal and Soil Productivity with No-Till Corn, Sorghum, and Soybean
Crop residues have been considered during the past decade as alternate energy sources to supplement dwindling fossil fuel sources and enhance energy independence in the United States. Agricultural scientists have demonstrated the importance of crop residues in reducing soil erosion, enhancing the soil physical environment for plant growth, and as a reserve for major crop nutrients. In eastern N...
متن کاملBelowground Interactions Impact the Soil Bacterial Community, Soil Fertility, and Crop Yield in Maize/Peanut Intercropping Systems
Intercropping has been widely used to control disease and improve yield in agriculture. In this study, maize and peanut were used for non-separation intercropping (NS), semi-separation intercropping (SS) using a nylon net, and complete separation intercropping (CS) using a plastic sheet. In field experiments, two-year land equivalent ratios (LERs) showed yield advantages due to belowground inte...
متن کاملPhosphorous and Mung Bean Residue Incorporation Improve Soil Fertility and Crop Productivity in Sorghum and Mungbean-Lentil Cropping System
In sorghum and mungbean – lentil cropping system, field experiments were conducted for three successive years to assess the effect of mung bean residue incorporation on sorghum and succeeding lentil productivity along with different doses of phosphorus (P; 0, 30, 60 kg ha−1) applied to these crops. The level of soil fertility was also tested with or without incorporation of mung bean residue. T...
